Moments like these I pinch myself and say really !! I have done it again for Queensland Milliners.

There are moments in a creative journey that feel truly defining and this is one of them.

I'm incredibly honoured to share that I have been selected by the International Millinery Network to showcase my work at an exclusive Royal Ascot Millinery Design & Sales Showcase by Fashion Synergy Events in London this April. To be presenting my design on an international runway, in the heart of Covent Garden, is both exhilarating and deeply humbling.

But beyond the announcement, the real magic is happening right now here in my studio on the Sunshine Coast Queensland.

Surrounded by rolls of millinery straw, sinamay, sculptural trims, and carefully selected feathers, materials & threads, I am in the process of creating a Royal Ascot Showstopper that is truly special. This piece is not just another hat, it is a showstopper. A design that captures everything my brand represents feminine elegance, bold expression, and the artistry of traditional millinery techniques.

Each element is being thoughtfully considered. Every curve, every stitch, every detail is guided by instinct, experience, and a desire to create impact. I want this piece to command attention on the runway to tell a story the moment it is seen.

My journey to this point has been shaped by years of dedication to my millinery craft, from building my business on the Sunshine Coast Queensland to achieving International award-winning success. Many milestones have led me here but this opportunity feels like a new chapter, one that places Queensland & Australian millinery on a global stage.

There's an undeniable energy that comes with creating for an event like Royal Ascot. It's not just about fashion, it's about presence, confidence, and individuality. And that is exactly what I am pouring into this design.

As I work in the studio, I can already envision the moment it steps onto the runway in London worn by a professional model, captured by photographers, and seen by an international audience. It's a surreal and exciting feeling.

I am so proud to represent my brand, my journey, Queensland & Australian millinery in this space. And I cannot wait to reveal the final piece.

Stay tuned-this is just the beginning.

Cheers Sandy
