Celebrating 2025- Creativity, Recognition, and Milestones

2025 was a year full of creativity, exciting challenges, and moments of recognition that truly made my heart sing. I was honoured to participate in several competitions and exhibitions, each offering an opportunity to showcase the artistry and passion poured into every piece.

At the Redcliffe Show Society, my hat "Fern & Filigree" received Highly Commended for a Spring-appropriate design, while "Amazonia Bloom" claimed Second Prize in the Headpiece for Spring category. I was particularly thrilled when "Galactic Walz" won First Prize for Headpiece Any Style, along with First Prize for Needlework and Best Exhibit in Millinery - a wonderful validation of the hours of love and attention to detail behind each creation.

The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) Creative Art & Craft Millinery was another highlight, where "Midnite Butterfly" earned Third Prize in the Spring Millinery section, celebrating bold colours and playful design.

I was also delighted to be recognised in wearable fashion, receiving Highly Commended at the Queensland Boulder Opal Association's Queen of Gems Design Awards with "Outback Orbit", a piece inspired by the beauty and mystery of Australian opals.

Finally, a career highlight was being selected among the Top 30 Finalist in the Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award in Melbourne on Cup Day, with the stunning Hannah Ware bringing my design to life on the runway. Photos below.

Each award and recognition is a reminder of why I love what I do - the thrill of creating, the joy of experimenting with textures, colours, and shapes, and most importantly, sharing these moments with clients, supporters, and the incredible millinery community.

As I look back on 2025, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for every opportunity, every challenge, and every creative spark that brought these achievements to life. Most importantly, I am grateful for you - my wonderful clients, supporters, friends, and family - whose trust and encouragement make this journey so rewarding.

Looking ahead to 2026, I'm inspired, energised, and ready to explore new ideas, experiment with fresh techniques, and continue creating millinery that celebrates colour, joy, and individuality. I can't wait to share more beautiful moments, designs, and experiences with you in the year to come - here's to another year of creativity, connection, and celebration together!
